Another First for Glenna

This afternoon Marco Sr. needed to go to Lima to pick up something so took Cynthia, Dumenico and myself with him.  He took us to a Chinese Restruant and ordered from the menu that is for the Chinese not the general public.  Anyway, the first course was pickled onions, reminded me of the little onions my mom and grandmother used to put in pickles, these were ate with peanuts.
Next came a plate that looked so good, it was Calimare and squid cooked in a great sauce.  A first for me, both Calimare and Squid but really couldn't eat the Squid so managed a "leg" in with the vegtables but the Calimare was ok.  Dumenico explained to me that the Calimare was the head that was just sliced squid or something like that.  :)  I had to mix the sauce with rice as it was pretty spicie.  The next dish was a flat noodle with beef and chicken pieces with onion and not sure what else.  It was very good.  Then we had a soup (for some reason the soup is served after the main dishes), we managed to finish it all but brought some of the soup home with us.  Then to top it off they brought out a dish with pieces of Watermelon, it was good but not as good as Hermiston Melon, and with the water melon was something else.  I took a picture of it before I would taste it.  It looked like some kind of fish but what a treat it turned out to be!  A fruit only grown in Asia and is brought in canned.  Leeche.
Wow could have ate another plate of that!
Here are the pictures.

Cynthia and Marco, you can see the plate of noodles with meat.

A little better view, forgot about the sprouts and peas.

You can see a squid and then the calamare with some of the chopped green onions there was larger onions too, the sauce was very good, there was some red peppers in it oo but they aren't showing.

So you can see Dumenico was with us.  Notice he has his sweater on.  It has been raining and there is a breeze that was cool, we are not far from the ocean.

A close up of the fruit, boy was it good!

Thought you might be able to see the lazy susan in the middle of the table, really liked it and want a base like it has, they had the base then a heavy round glass on top of it.  Made it so nice to serve the food.
